One of South Australia's most iconic surfing events returns to the lower Yorke Peninsula on Saturday 10 October 2026.

First held in 1983 by local surfers, the Yorkes Classic has become a much loved part of the region's surfing culture, bringing competitors and supporters to some of the best waves the Yorke Peninsula has to offer.

The Yorkes Classic, now it its 43rd year, is a mobile event, with competition held at the location offering the best conditions on the day.

For Marion Bay, the Yorkes Classic is more than a competition. It celebrates a surfing culture that has been part of this community for generations and brings surfers, families and visitors together in a spectacular part of the Yorke Peninsula.
